Ari Fleischer Hired to Defend BCS, or "Rich Person Hired to Tell Lies"
You pick the headline. In either case, we all know what's going on with the BCS as it digs its heals in and throws money at the feet of the firm of Ari Fleischer, former President George W. Bush's Press Secretary turned sports public relations firm wonker -- or would the proper term in Fleischer's case be p.r. firm wanker? According to the Associated Press, Fleischer's firm has been hired to "help remodel the tattered image of college football’s postseason system." Fleischer said he is "honored to be able to help the BCS."So get ready for some serious spin coming out of Fleischer's mouth in the coming months. If we didn't hate the current system so much, it might be entertaining to see how he makes something so awful seem so pleasant.

So why is it that the people like ourselves can't get some public relations going about replacing the BCS with something like the College Football Championship Series (CFCS) Playoff / Invitational which I've developed over the past six years, and is explained in detail on my website www.ultimatetweaker.com - I've gone to great length and considerable expense to write and have published a book, Prelude To The Playoff largely about the BCS. It details how I believe that BCS "charter membership" by my hometown team - Notre Dame - has adversely affected their football program; and, how the BCS with their affiliated "big bowls" has thus far structured their cartel to successfully deny the smaller football conferences a fair share of their profits as they continue to "spoon-feed" the American college football fan their annual "national champion."
I need the help of those who are in a position to do so to bring to the attention of the football public that there is something better than the BCS. I've written the book and created the website; unfortunately, I've not run for the office of Vice-President. - The book is not doing well, nor for that matter is the website; even locally where one might think it would. - Possibly too controversial for both South Bend and for Notre Dame? Although humorous, sometimes poignant, it definitely is one the BCS would not want you to read.>
Any "sports reviews" or public relations contacts you might have already established would be of great help to our cause.
